Storm Warning: Carolina Hurricanes won the Stanley Cup over the Edmonton Oilers

Storm Warning:  Non-Hurricane Protection Story :-)

The Carolina Hurricanes won the 114-year-old Stanley Cup in North Carolina on Monday.  It was the hurricanes’ second trip to the finals – the first ending in a five-game loss to Detroit four years ago.  The Hurricanes won the cup in front of their home fans Monday night – a tremendous end to a dramatic series.

From a quote in the AP story – Carolina coach Peter Laviolette first thanked the fans for their support and he then thanked the players saying:

“You guys played your hearts out and it was never more evident than last night,” he said. “That was the best game that we ever played. We needed that, you delivered it and because of it, we got that thing right here.”
